Ustazah, your poem carries a quiet gravity that’s hard to shake, I’m struck by how intentionally you shape emotional memory into almost physical imagery. The sand castles, the sky touched, the stars caught — these details feel tenderly observed, like fragments of a shared world now too delicate to hold.
I admire how the tone shifts without losing its steadiness: from nostalgia, to hurt, to a firm, almost dignified boundary. The repetition of “stay away” becomes less a rejection and more an act of self-preservation. Even the plainness of the final lines feels purposeful — a closing door spoken softly, not slammed.

Great question! My muse is alive and well, with some ideas in the works. However, Neville has hinted that he has a new post coming soon, and I am hesitant to steal the chime from his cuckoo clock until then. Look for my muse to call again in the new year.
