O Joseph of my heart,

Your love has captivated me

So do not underestimate my feelings

Your hesitation is a sword that cuts me

And your absence is a fire that burns me

Do not say that my story

With you is an illusion

Spun from my imagination

Not a reality in my life

And do not pity my state

Do not say that I am a dreamer

And do not reach out to shake me awake

For I do not want to wake

From my dream of you

Do not say that I am sick

In need of someone to heal me

And do not offer me an antidote

For I do not want

To be cured of your love

Even if it is a poison

That will weaken and kill me

Do not say that I am a delusional lover

Exaggerating your virtues

For I have searched in you for reasons

To distance myself from you

And stop my love for you

I discovered in you qualities

I wasn’t aware of

That drove me to be even more

Infatuated with you

And I found nothing but beauty in you

So I drowned more in your love

O Joseph of my heart

Have mercy on me

Your beauty has captivated me

And your poetry has seduced me

And my heart cannot help but follow you

So be kind and open your heavens to me

Let me find solace in your stars

And be illuminated by your full moon

Let me swim in your sea

Ride with you in your ship

And remain forever near you
